Black Cicadas.
Cicadas belong in a family called cicadidae.
Cicadas have two short antennas, a bulging abdomen, two pairs of wings, compound eyes (which is little dots) and three pairs of walking legs.
Cicadas begin their life as an egg, shaped like a grain of rice. The nymphs digs into the earth and stays there for about 3 years while they grow bigger. The nymph hatches out and it looks like a cream coloured ant.
Adult cicadas do not eat food. Baby cicadas eat food until cicadas are an adult. When cicadas turn into an adult they don't eat food. Cicadas eat tree sap. Also cicadas eat plants. Cicadas has this pointing thing that pokes into the tree and suck's all the skin off after that all of the cicadas leave.
When I find cicadas I can put them on my hand them and it will make noises.
