The Bee Anatomy                                                                  

The bee anatomy has three parts; head, thorax, abdomen. It also has some other amazing features on its body.

The three main parts are the head, the thorax, and the abdomen. The abdomen is at the back of the bee, it is the biggest part. The head is the smallest part and is at the front. In the middle there is the thorax, the thorax has the four wings on it and the wings are at the top.

On a bee head there is antennae. Antennae are like little twigs above the bee's head to help it move around and sniff, so it's like it's their nose. Bees also have big compound eyes on the front of the bee there are also three small ones on the top of their head, and they are called the ocelli. The last thing on a bee's head  is a mouth and tongue. The tongue is also called a proboscis. The proboscis helps the bee to slurp up nectar and pollen.

Now onto the thorax like i said a bee has wings on the top of its body, if you look closely on the back wings there are tiny hooks on a bee, so the back wings can hook to the front wings in flight. Also the thorax is very furry and hairy. Something else about a bee is that the hip and legs are stuck to the bottom of the bee's thorax, and on those legs are a comb to collect nectar and pollen.

Now last but not least is the biggest part the abdomen. The abdomen is the part with the stinger but do you know drones don't have a stinger? Only the queen and the worker have a stinger. When a bee stings you it dies. When it stings you an ink sack of poison goes into your skin and you have to pull it out with tweezers or you will squeeze more poison in you and it will really hurt.
